Cutting Your Own Tree card

I've had the idea for this card for years. I just thought about all those people who go out and cut their own trees, take them home and decorate them. I never have done that, but I wonder, "do they leave a stump?"

A Happy Birthday Card

Okay, I know the picture is sort of fuzzy, but you can get the idea. I made this 3-D card using a quilling technique. While regular quilling gives me a pain in the keester, I liked making these roses. Now I have to figure out how in the world I will mail it to someone! I have someone in mind, who's special day is this coming Saturday, so I had better get it figured out. A padded envelope might work, but also might crush the roses. Any suggestions you all could give would be helpful.

Special Cards for Special People.

I try never to make any two cards exactly alike. I made this special card for a VERY special person. I hope that person received as much JOY getting the card that I did making it. Merry Christmas!

In keeping with the weather, I created this card for some special friends. My Cricut came in very handy when making this card. I cut all images on that fantastic little machine.

Roses are Red, and Yellow and Violet...

It's fun the things you can learn from others on YouTube! After watching a video about a dozen times, I was able to create these roses. They are made from ordinary two-sided cardstock. The demo made them much smaller and put them on packages or used them in scrapbooking. I made them large, used rose bowls, (cheap at the dollar store), some plastic wrap wadded up and placed in bottom to look like water, and voila!!! An inexpensive gift to spruce up any desk or workspace!

Embossing 101

I cannot rubber stamp worth a hoot! Therefore, I seldom have luck embossing. (Can't do one without the other), but thanks to the wonderful sales associate at Archivers, and her demonstration, I was able to emboss the tree in the middle of this card. I also tapped two of the Cricut cut snowflakes into the stamp pad and embossing powder, and embossed them. The inside of card is embossed simply with "Merry Christmas," in silver, of course.

As I See It...sentimental journey

I blew up a map of my area of the country. Printed it out on buff paper. Then I overlaid the map with a cut out of an antique pickup truck loaded with a Christmas tree. Mounted the whole thing on red cardstock, then added the caption. Glued to a Kraft paper card, this combination makes a rustic, sentimental card for a family member. Inside says, "please have snow, and mistletoe."

As I See It...Christmas cards

This card uses several mediums. A Kraft paper card, topped with plaid flannel, then green cardstock covered with plaid ribbon topped with a scroll of music paper cut with my Cricut. Embellished with holly and berries via Cricut. Same embellishment on Kraft envelope.

I created this frivolous card totally with the Cricut. Using bright cardstocks, and adding a bit of gold ink to the ornaments adds a touch of whimsy.

Gold is the basic theme for this card. I used several gold themed papers plus gold ribbon for a "quilt" effect. The tree was done on the Cricut.

As I See It...new creations

I wanted some new window treatments for my room. Couldn't find what I wanted in the stores, so I opted to make them myself. All it took was a few yards of fabric and a NEW SEWING MACHINE! This shows my west window. The north one looks exactly like it. My desk sits in front of the north window and it was piled with business stuff so I didn't photograph it.





No, I don't knit, but I have this "Knifty Knitter" loom by Provo Craft which lets me create like a pro. So I made the red sock cap for my grandson RJ and the green hat for my niece in TX. This is something I can do and watch TV in the evenings. That way I don't feel like I am just wasting my time.
